Cavangarden's History and Legacy
Cavangarden House, built in 1750 for the Atkinson family, stands as a testament to timeless beauty and architectural craftsmanship.
One of the things that makes this elegant three-story estate truly special is its stunning location. Accessible via a private drive that winds through a breathtaking nature preserve and across a charming bridge over the Two Mile River, the estate reveals itself as a tranquil oasis that's surrounded by rolling hills and stunning Blue Stack Mountain views, inspiring a sense of peace and connection to nature.
In 1966, Agnes and Michael McCaffrey purchased the home and adjoining 380 acres from the Atkinsons. With a passion for hospitality and a tireless work ethic, they quickly transformed Cavangarden into a thriving farm and beloved Bed & Breakfast.
Today, Donna and Joanne McCaffrey continue the family legacy as the proud owners and caretakers of this remarkable place. With the goal to preserve its originality and heritage while working hard to adapt the home all the modern comforts, maintaining this multi-generational enterprise has been their privilege.
They eagerly await your visit and look forward to sharing
their cherished home with you.
